Iconography of the number 6

So... in my first post i' ve written the number 6 is a bad number with fearing attempt - considering the Bible - and the number 7 the number of perfection. Now i must correct myself...

"Six, as a complete number, symbolizes perfection" told Raban Maver, a medieval catholic abbot. Also in the ancient iconography this number is called "numerus perfectus" and holds many positiv symbolics. It was respected because of its seldom property: it's the sum and at the same time the product of its all dividers (1, 2, 3, 6) . Because of its mathematical qualities it values an accordant number.
This meanings are clearly expresses in many ways:
- Seraphs, the highest anglelic beings, have 6 wings

God surrounding by
seraphim. From the ''Petites Heures de Jean de Berry'', a 14th-century illuminated manuscript.

- 6 stairs leading to the throne of King Salomon
- The seal of salomon is the Star of David (symbol of harmony, later Jewry) - it has 6 shanks (hexagram)
- the biblic Madonna is signed with 6 virtues
- 6 days of creation (god hasn't created the world in 7 days! no! the bible tells the 7th day was the day of gods rest) - at the 6th day the human was made... so it's also the number of human, the number of creation
- the world history may be divided into 6 world ages (with Jesus begins the 6th epoche- so the number becomes the meaning of redemptation)
- also the human life may be devided to 6 periods: babyhood, childhood, minority, youth, maturity, oldness
- 6 days God was collecting manna to save his nation that was starving in the desert
- The birth of Jesus was announced to Madonna 6 month after conception of John the Babtist
- Jesus was crucified at the 6th hour of the 6th day in the week (crucifixion is also symbolizing redemptation)
- Also at the 6th hour of the 6th day the soul was given to Adam
So..in general the christian mithology has given the following symbolic meanings to this number: perfection, entireness, accordance, redemptation, harmony, creation, creativitation...

The first question i ask myself now is : Why is the number 666 representing evil, bad things, satanism,... ??
In one version of the bible i've found this " Now the weight of gold which came in to Solomon in one year was 666 talents of gold.." - according to this it means evil because Salomon has collected to much money... and this riches are turning people to bad... so this number was symbolizing bad (also because it's one step under the number 7 - the number of eternity- not perfection!).... the number 666 is also the hebrew number transcription of the name of roman emperor Nero (one of the devil's reincarnations)...also of the Caligola's name.

Okey, be continoued soon...

bye
